Music Magic: The String Pulse Experience Documentary

Two years in the making, countless hours of filming, and finally the project is complete. Music Magic: The String Pulse Experience will premier on Mountain Lake PBS.This exciting documentary, directed by award-winning documentary filmmaker, Diana C. Frank, focuses on the internationally renowned violinist, Daisy Jopling, as she inspires and encourages local young music students to excel and then to perform with her in her original show, The String Pulse Experience.The film follows three local students, Madison McBride, Peru, Logan Polak, Willsboro, and Kiera Levitt, Lake Placid, at home to get a sense of their daily life and chores, and how music helps them cope with their problems.

Winner of the 2015 and 2017 Lake Placid Theater Award, Jopling’s show, “The String Pulse Experience,” performed at the LPCA in April 2015, featured over 200 students. It was the culmination of five months of Jopling working together with music teachers and students from seven Adirondack schools – Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Keene Valley, Tupper Lake, Willsboro, Ausable Valley, and Peru.

The film records the incredible improvements in the children’s playing, and shows how they develop personally in response to the challenge. Their musical skills improve, together with their self-confidence, and schoolwork.

“We want to show this film as much as possible around the U.S. to help get music education put back into the schools where it’s been cut,” said Jopling.

The documentary premieres on Mountain Lake PBS, on Friday, April 21st – 9 pm, and airs again on Saturday, April 22th – 2 am, and Saturday, April 29th – 6pm.
