The Jayne Frances Chiappone Memorial Scholarship

Honoring a Life of Kindness, Courage, and Love of Learning

The Daisy Jopling Foundation is honored to introduce the Jayne
Frances Chiappone Memorial Scholarship, created through a generous gift from her
husband, Robert (“Rob”) Chiappone, and their family. This scholarship celebrates
Jayne’s remarkable life and her deep belief in education, opportunity, and helping
others.

About the Scholarship

This scholarship will provide one particularly talented local student with the opportunity to pursue free private lessons at the Daisy Jopling Music Academy Studio as well as participation in lauded music camps such as Oberlin and Tanglewood.

This scholarship is designed to level the playing field—ensuring that every
child, regardless of income, has access to the high-quality artistic training needed to
grow their gifts and use their creativity to make the world a better place.
Your support makes it possible for children to pursue their artistic dreams with
confidence, dignity, and equal opportunity.

About Jayne

Jayne Frances Chiappone, originally from Swindon, England, passed away on August
27, 2025 at the age of 61 after a courageous seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s
Disease. She was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, relative, friend, and colleague to many
across the U.S. and the U.K.

Jayne built a successful career as a cosmetologist in England before coming to the U.S.
in 1989, where she later married Rob and created a life filled with friendship, laughter,
travel, and adventure. She adored her family, her pets, England’s countryside, the
British Royal Family, 80’s music, dancing, and fast convertible cars.
A passionate believer in education, Jayne returned to school as an adult—earning high
honors at Westchester Community College, then at Wellesley College, and later
completing her Master’s in Education at Manhattanville College. She went on to become
a dedicated Special Education teacher, enriching the lives of her students with
compassion, humor, and unwavering commitment.

Even after her Alzheimer’s diagnosis, Jayne chose to help others by participating in
multiple research studies at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Her decision to donate her brain for
Alzheimer’s research stands as a remarkable final act of generosity.

Her Legacy Lives On

Jayne’s family created this scholarship so that her light, compassion, and belief in
young people will continue to make a difference. Each time a child receives music
lessons through this fund, Jayne’s spirit shines on.
